Gray

"Sobering."

I started playing with no idea of what was going on, only that people were rioting and I was apparently attempting to convert them to "the other side," if you will. When everyone was of the same persuasion, the player character changes color (ideals) and must attempt to sway others back. I, at least, took it as an indication of peoples' sudden and unpredictable switches in ideology.

As time passes, it becomes easier and easier to convince people of whichever ideal I hold, showing not only how people change easily, but how as time goes on, views become more extreme, and people are more easily swayed.

Finally, the player character attempts to find a middle ground and convince people of an alternative to two extremes, thus the Grey. Because he is on neither extreme, though, his voice is lost in the crowd and he is left unnoticed.

At least, it's my interpretation of the whole thing. I don't know if it's right or not, and though I would love to know the true meaning behind it, those are still the thoughts this game will provoke in me.

It made me think about human nature, about how people so willingly take to extremes. As it says in the title, I found it very sobering.

All my 10 are belong to you two.

Robot Dinosaurs

"Amazingly fun."

I opened the game not knowing what to expect, not even knowing what kind of game it was. The intro was decent (I commend you for letting the player click past it, by the way - unskippable intros are shitty), but when the gameplay started, I thought, "It's just your average side scrolling shooter."

That's when I first used my laser. I have to say, the roars were excellent. I laughed - hard - when I dispatched a line of enemies with a roaring laser.

The game itself was fun, with plenty of action going on at once without getting cluttered. The problem with the game is, it's too easy and it's too short.

I'm horrible at this time of game, but I only lost one life in the game, and that was because I wanted to find out if the scenery could hurt (It hurt MUCH more quickly than I expected, and I lost a life). I almost lost another facing the boss when it sped up its rotation because I wasn't expecting it, but it was just too easy as a whole.

Now, for one level and a boss, it was great. The problem is, it left me wanting. I destroyed the boss, was fully prepared for a second level - nope, end cutscene and credits.

One thing that irks me about the game (not just a small complaint about length or difficulty) is the fact that the music when facing the boss doesn't loop. By the time I have it half destroyed, the music's completely stopped and doesn't start again. It's just a bit offputting to hear one of the exaggerated roars when there's no music accompanying it.

Despite the looping issue and how quick the game ended, it was an amazingly fun game for what it is. I had fun with it, and even went back to do it again with the other dino.

I give you my 9/10.

Time Assault

"Haha, pretty fun time waster."

submission: Time Assault

I managed to kill about 2700 ninja, but the six that got inside were enough to take it down.

The game was well polished, with small things like the background changing as you change time, the different stages of the clock's deterioration, etc.

The music was, as in all of your games, superb. Excellent choice.

It could do with a bit more work to make it less repetitive, something along the lines of powerups for reaching a certain number of kills or something, but it was a pretty solid game.

Now, I think I'm off to play some more of SCGMDX3.

Defcon Zero

"There it is!"

I've been looking for this track for a long time; I've heard it several times and never thought to actually check who made it. I was listening to Chaoz Impact when I decided to browse your other songs, and I'm so glad I finally know who made this.

It sounds a bit Springyard Zone-y, doesn't it? (One of the earlier Sonic games had the level.)

Anyway... I love the way it starts with a simply, catchy tune and suddenly leads into a real piece of art. Beautiful, is all I can say.

Keep up the good work, Paragon. You're definitely among the best the Portal has to offer.
